These portable display cabinets located in the foyer of Parliament House showcase important documents integral to Western Australia’s history and development. The iconic setting meant that strict visual and heritage guidelines drove the design process. The structures are also designed to be easily dismantled and reconfigured to flexibly adapt to any future location.
The external graphic elements were inspired by the surfaces and textures of the documents themselves, whilst adjustable display props inside the cabinets allow the objects to appear to float in space.
